Call for Proposals

2024 National Conference

The 2024 CAP National conference is being held in San Antonio, Texas, August 16 and 17. In order to provide the best possible experience to members, CAP is issuing a call for proposals to present on site in San Antonio. Do you have a best practice idea to present? Or a topic to help CAP members to be more successful? Interested National Staff and members are encouraged to submit a conference proposal.

All proposals will be evaluated by a team made up of volunteer members and national staff, and then vetted by the respective offices and functional areas for mission relevance and accuracy.

Timeline

1 March - Proposal form open for submissions

21 March - Deadline for proposal submissions

1 May - Conference schedule set and presenters notified

Proposals

To help you in crafting the best proposal you can for your presentation, use the NASPA Program Submission Guidelines. These guidelines will provide in depth information about the major components of your proposal and provide good (and bad) examples of each.

NASPA Program Submission Guidelines

Remember that whether you are presenting in person or virtually your goal is to provide the best possible experience to your fellow CAP members. To do that you will have to avoid “death by PowerPoint” and focus on how to get your audience fully engaged, and interacting with you, your presentation, and each other.

All presentation types will be allotted 45 minutes save the discovery sessions which are intended to be 6-8. If you are doing a workshop, or other session that would require more time, please indicate it in the final notes of your proposal. Requesting a particular type is no indication that it will be accepted, and you may be accepted under a different type than submitted.
